my order for July finally came wahhhhh. I had a lot of drama over this order, because part of me wanted to buy through Honto again (for the cheaper shipping) but Honto doesn’t stock Boy’s Pierce and there was no way in hell I was going to not buy Boy’s Pierce this month because I needed (NEEDED!!!) to know if Kou-chan was going to cheat on Kishi. It was of utmost importance. And then I really really wanted Toshishita Kareshi no Renai Kanriguse but uh… evidently every other fujoshi in Japan also wanted that book because it’s been backstocked for rerelease on August 12th. So much for that. Then Kevin Komine’s book went out of stock. So. I had to cancel and redo and rethink this order about a million times. Life is so hard for this unfortunate little fujoshi.
but it’s here now (except one book that should come tomorrow) so–! We can rejoice!
first off can we just laugh at how ridiculously and unnecessarily large BexBoy GOLD is? This is my first time buying it, and I already knew it was bigger than most, but THAT BIG? Really? I’m already running hilariously low on space to store and display all my books ahhhh.
my bl order for December came today! \o/ Well most of it because I also impatiently tossed Kojima Lalako and Tomoe Fumi’s January releases in my cart. But everything that was actually released in December is here so I figured I would do an ~unboxing~ first impressions post since I haven’t read any of them yet and it would at least give you a chance to see what I got in case I go AWOL again this month.
was feeling pretty antisocial and hermit-y today and didn’t feel like showering the second I got up so I put up a little note to let them know they could just leave the package. For a nice long time the DHL people knew to just leave it but idk I think the dude who used to deliver my stuff either got a new route or quit and this new person isn’t so fast on the uptake so he always knocks and waits for my signature s o b.
BUT HEY here is my precious unnecessarily large box full of cheesy homoerotic romance so let’s get to this unboxing now shall we.
Well I was going through my books that arrived from my order in August and I figured a lot of people said it would be okay it I just talked randomly about BL-related personal stuff so. Here’s my boring post about the books I’ve gotten so far from my August order. Still yet to arrive are Castle Mango (I shoved it in my order when it was still supposed to come out in August so now they’re just treating it like a perorder orz) and Yamada Maya’s book through drap (which should be here today actually) so I can’t really talk about those. But I can talk about my other stuff that has arrived recently so sdgh;ldsg;s
Initially I was just taking out the inside pamphlets from the books and placing them in the special box of BL stuff where I keep pamphlets and special papers and extras. Unfortunately I had to start using another box recently—
—since the other one is too full. Thank goodness I am an obsessively storage-oriented person so I had an extra box lying around ready to become a BL pamphlet container.
Anyway, onto talking about my actual books.
sorry in advance that this post is kind of long and image-heavy. /;w;\
ahh I used to do magazine reviews like this all the time but for some reason it’s really hard to talk myself into doing them lately. But there are a few stories I’d like to talk about in the latest Chara so I figured it would be okay to at least do a short magazine review—better than doing nothing at all.
the cover is really lovely this time! Though I didn’t read and thus won’t talk about Deadlock since I’m pretty sure I missed the first chapter. orz;;; Not really any warning for R-18 content this time around since Chara is known for being a pretty vanilla publication.
possibly in celebration of Kinoshita Keiko’s upcoming double release through their publisher, the newest cover of HertZ is adorned with her lovely artwork.
Sadly, this totally caught me by surprise because I realized… I haven’t even read band 46 of HertZ yet. orz;;;; Aside from the final chapter of Hakumokuren I’ve only flipped through it so far. And since I only flipped through, I didn’t even bother looking at the back contents to see who would be in the next issue. Ahhh, the joys of getting a huge box of books in the mail at the same time you get a new job.
Anyway, I’m also happily surprised to see the two colored pages are by two of my favorite HertZ writers: Kojima Lalako and Konno Satomi. *A*)/ Glorious! Both of them have absolutely stunning coloring so I’m ecstatic to see what they have to offer this time around. Actually, it’s great to see Konno Satomi back with a new story so quickly considering her last story finished up in the previous issue of HertZ. (And I still haven’t read it yet…)
Also, Inariya Fusanosuke has a Yaoi-Con report in this issue! Should be interesting.
I figured it’s been a while since I’ve done something like this, and I got a package in the mail with a bunch of magazines/anthologies today so. Why not? Since I’m sure it’ll take me a lot of time to actually properly read them all and even then I’ll likely be too lazy to do a proper write-up anyway.
vague warning for NSFW content, though I don’t think I took many pictures of sex scenes.
I’m only going to talk about a few stories from this (literally, about three) because I stopped buying Chara regularly quite a while back and before this issue even I’m missing at least two issues. So when I read Chara I can pretty much only read the oneshots and the manga that only have one chapter so far. Which are very few. :< But I wanted this issue because:
1. Konno Satomi is in it this time.
2. It has the final chapter of Junko’s Konbini-kun.
Luckily, I didn’t have to buy it myself—I got it as a birthday gift. :9 Ehe.
Warning for R-18 images since Junko’s chapter was pretty perverted.
